New Blog Series: My Testimony Story
I’m at it again. Well, sort of. HA!
At this point, I am writing blog posts by faith. Because I just CANNOT seem to get the idea out of my head. I probably think about it at least every other day.
As we have discussed in my previous posts ….. up to this point, I have not had a clear idea of what to blog about, or where to start.
Although I have had plenty of ideas for blog topics…. they all felt sort of random. Or like something I would be blogging about just for the sake of blogging, not because it was something that I actually cared about and wanted to share with you…. make sense?
Either way, here I am again because I feel like I could possibly have an actual idea!
*GASP*
Not an idea for a specific blog post, but more of an idea for a….
New Blog Series! My Testimony Story
Now, I don’t know how much you have actually paid attention to the name of my blog….. But, let me tell ya…. HER LIFE IN SEASON isn’t just a catchy little phrase. I spent a lot of time thinking about it. And I came up with it for a reason…..
That reason being the fact that #1: I didn’t want to be limited as to what genre of topics I could blog about. (It literally encompasses everything). And, #2 : because the whole point of this blog is because I want to share the SEASONS of my life with you!
Whether you’ve realized it or not, all of our lives are broken up in seasons….
I am 30 this years guys…… T-H-I-R-T-Y !!! So weird.
My point in saying that is just to say that I feel like I have had my fair share of seasons up to this point. And I have things to say!
More specifically, my intentions for this blog series are to share about my seasons on the topic of GOD.
So I’m going to go backwards. And talk about what I have learned so far, and what the Lord has done in my life….. my story…..
I AM GOING TO TELL YOU MY TESTIMONY!
In steps.
The steps the Lord has led me through up to this point. (There’s kind of a lot of them).
Many people think that a testimony is just a short story, of one small season in life, where a person decided to give their life to Christ, and “be a christian now”.
“I was once blind…. and now I see!
I was lost and now I am found! I was going to hell, and now I’m going to heaven!”
The End.
Guys….. you may have never considered this before…. but this is only the BEGINNING of your testimony!
The real testimony is how Jesus is now, on a daily basis, leading you in your new walk with Him! How He is renewing every part of the old you….. into the NEW you, that is in Christ!
And this is what forms your “story”! Exciting!
The Bible says:
2 Corinthians 5:17
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things have passed away, behold; all things have become new.”
Once we accept Jesus as our savior, we are immediately made new in the spirit. But, obviously…. as many of you have experienced…. we are not automatically changed in every way.
We still have our same memories. Our same thoughts, personalities, habits, (good or bad). Our same tendencies and belief systems. Our same likes and dislikes, etc.
THESE are the things that are being changed every day, for the rest of our lives. (If we allow God to do it).
These are the things we are renewing daily with the word of God, so that we can see Him and know Him, more and more clearly and fully.
This is your testimony story!
So, hopefully you can see that a testimony is an ongoing thing. And this is what I would like to share with you….
MY ONGOING TESTIMONY STORY.
Some parts will be bumpy…. And embarrassing. Some parts may make a lot of sense to some, and not so much to others.
I only hope that I can shed light into the darkness. And give words to things some of you have thought or felt, but didn’t understand or know how to put into words.
I would love to help anyone by sharing what I have learned. And I believe that I will. Because the bible itself says that there is power in the words of our testimonies. (Revelation 12:11)
God wants us to share our testimonies!
Because my life has been changed drastically from where it used to be… I want to share that with you. And give God all the glory.
I should say really…. that it is my heart that has changed more than anything else. My fuller understanding of the Lord, His true character, and what grace accomplished on the cross.
I’m excited, and also very nervous. Bare with me please…..
I hope you will follow along, or at least make occasional visits into this new blog series….
SO we can learn life together, One Day at a Time.
